UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change is an international environmental treaty negotiated at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. UNFCCC is the parent treaty of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. Both treaties aim to "stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that will prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system."
